This review is from: Jewel in the Bharatmata's crown. Although written by a descendant, objectivity has not been compromised. Arguably, the tallest leader of our fight for freedom, Nethaji continues to be adored by over a billion of our countrymen even now. The statement that Nethaji posthumously eroded the confidence of colonizer is quite true.
The narrative does look a bit uncharitable to the Mahatma and more so to Nehru and the so- called rightist leadership of the Congress. But this is an author's privilege and one can either take it or leave it.
Overall, a gripping account of the life of a great patriot, charismatic leader, intellectual and visionary whose love for the country mattered over everything else to him. The writer presents a Did not meet my expectations. The writer presents a lot of facts, so far unknown, but even then the book lacks something.
He has not been able to capture the energy of Subhas Chandra Bose. Just completed it recently.
