I tried uploading pics taken with my iphone today, (something I have been doing my iPad (iOS6) using safari and the SYI listing form and could upload photos.

In fact, I'd say that's about when it started! And I always use the iPad's main ebay site, not the app, to create my auctions. Higreat suggestion. However, that icon does not appear in this particular scenario when trying to upload photos onto ebay as it does when you simply open the camera on your ipad.
Well I'll be darned!!!!! The photo library DOES pop right up on the app. But I don't like using it to create listings because it's just too abbreviated. Great solution though! Still, the ebay fellow told me that the regular site should be working, that they did nothing to change it. I ended up having to email all my photos to myself and creating the auction from my laptop. If you can use your laptop have you tried the "request desktop site" function on your iPad? Log in to ebay. Hold your finger on the circular arrow at the end of the search field, then tap request desktop site.
